Our recent visit to NASA confirms that it is,
indeed, one of the best museums here in Houston. While there are more than 20
museums located in Houston alone, NASA is one place you would definitely consider
in your itinerary. There are many exhibits to view and activities to enjoy. There are exhibits that are always present and there are those that change.
Permanent exhibits include the Space Station Model, the Space Capsule, the
Skylab and other space suit, information and pictures display, and different
rides and activities.
The theme attraction today is Angry Birds Space.
This is primarily the reason why we found ourselves in the museum. Gabriel
loves these birds so much that he tried to collect everything that has any of the
angry birds image on it. At the museum, greater number of kids seemed to have enjoyed much the four-story slide and other activities with all these feathered birds characters. I lost track counting how many times Gabriel slid down the twirling slides. The first try was scary so Gabe’s Dad slid with him down the swirling slides. Boy! My husband screamed louder than my son. He ended up complaining a backache. But for Gabriel, I say he had his best day ever at the museum.
Other than the Angry Birds Space attraction, there
was also Living in Space presentation which was truly informative. The
presenter demonstrated different parts of the space capsule and how astronauts
live inside it while in space. The Starship Gallery was another attraction you
do not want to miss. You will see real footage of men's travel in space especially the first time astronauts landed on the moon. And of course, after we tired ourselves with all those fun-filled activities, we stuffed our stomach at the food court.
