The Park at Fox Chase

The early morning breeze embraces the serenity of the park. The velvety green grass that covers its entirety often mesmerizes the joggers and causes passing cars to slow down to snatch a glimpse of such a magnificent site. It is during these young hours of the day that the park radiates its enormous beauty as the sun showers its golden raise all over the park. Looking at this marvelous creation, one can truly value and appreciate how wonderful it is to become part of the nature.

A walk along its winding path studs with flowers along both sides is a moment to capture. The sun-colored daises, the vivid purple lilies and cotton candy pink hyacinth are perfect ornaments bringing colors to life. But a little rest under the gargantuan tree and watch the leaves be blown away by the whispering wind brings inner peace to one’s soul. The moist in the grass shines like sparkling crystals as the golden raise of the sun kisses them gently. The lonesome bench in the middle of the park punctuates its tranquility.

Across the length of the park is a brick pavilion built for its purpose. It is a perfect place for momentous occasions and a concrete witness for gatherings. Behind it is a man-made lake covered with crystal clear water that invites the senses to come and take a scoop. Indeed, the water is enticing enough to make me dip my hand and let the water lingers in between my fingers. The water was brought alive by the dancing goldfish and singing cricket elevating the pond into a perfect stage.

On the other part of the park stands a playground creating another scene of attraction. At this early hour, kids are nowhere to find at any part of the park. There is silence but not complete for one could hear the metal rubbing sound as the swings rock gently by the cold wind. The little merry-go-round is kept still like a parked car. No one is there to move or spin it. The yellow and winding slides are empty.

As the sun becomes more intense, the morning breeze starts to fade. The busy buzzing bees begin to hustle their way to the quietude of the park. People and children start to crowd the empty playground. The swings and the slides start to play their special music and fill the air with flashy laughter from the little ones. The park is now so alive like awakened geese singing their morning greetings to everyone. When everyone gets tired and lay rest the day, serenity will again reign as the darkness creeps in later tonight.
