Like many of us, I do have my own wish list. But unlike others, mine has been granted and delivered even before Christmas eve.

Of course, Gabe has his own wish list, which include Plants vs. Zombie toy and Mine Craft (for his ipad mini). Let Daddy Santa do his job.

Setting aside these material things, we should not forget that Christmas is about Jesus Christ. It is His birthday. It is also a day when families get together and share "media noche"or "noche buena". I have so many good Christmas memories. However, there was one very sad memory that I could never forget - Christmas of 1999. It was the first Christmas without my Dad. Everyone was at the table. So quiet. Food was getting cold, but no one wants to make the first move. After a few more minutes, my mom started crying and then everyone else started crying. My mom ran outside probably trying to hide the pain from us. After  a few seconds, I followed her and found her sitting at the driver seat of my dad's owner-type jeep. I gave her a big hug to comfort her even though I know it will not be enough. I told her, "Christmas will never be the same again." What I probably meant by that time was that celebrating the occasion will never be the same again because we will never be complete again.

Life goes on for all of us. Today, we may never be complete again but our family is surely growing. As we move on, we are also growing in our faith. Christmas is a season to be jolly. It is an opportunity for families to get together and be merry. It is one gigantic reason to be thankful because it was this time when we received the best gift from God - Jesus Christ.
